Limitations and uncertainty
Only the Acrobat tools listed by Adobe can be invoked through chat; for other tools Adobe documents step-by-step guidance instead of execution. Adobe documents that multi-tool, content-aware and text-editing prompts are not yet supported on Teams or Enterprise plans, and that text editing requires the app language set to English on desktop or web. Adobe documents that changes may not run as expected and advises adding page numbers, section names or file names to the prompt, and links a troubleshooting page for chat editing. Undo is documented from the top bar after a supported action is applied, while redaction is described as permanently removing or masking information. Generative AI file requirements documented elsewhere by Adobe — under 100 MB, up to 600 pages, no password protection or usage restrictions, not a PDF Portfolio — constrain the documents this can operate on. Whether confirmation is required for every supported action is not documented: Adobe documents confirmation for text edits, for multi-tool plans, and where an action is irreversible, needs more information or requires confirming the right content or pages, but does not state that every single-tool action pauses for confirmation. The runtime permission model governing execution is not documented.
